Three Australian players to watch out for in their T20 World Cup clash against Namibia

Former T20 World Cup winners Australia are more or less through to the Super 8 stages of the ongoing T20 World Cup edition. Mitchell Marsh and side haven’t broken their sweat during their two wins in the tournament so far.

The Australians began with the game against Oman and looked to be in trouble early on. David Warner and Marcus Stoinis though played match-winning knocks to make sure their team ended up in a strong position. Stoinis who had scored 67 runs in that game also did the star turn with the ball as he picked 3 crucial wickets.

It was the turn to face England next as the Aussies posted a massive 201 on the board against their arch-rivals. In reply England could score only 165 runs to lose the match by 36 runs despite getting a great start from Phil Salt and Jos Buttler.

Here are the top 3 Australian players to watch out for in their key clash against Namibia

3. Adam Zampa

Needing 202 to win, England were given a flying start by Phil Salt and Jos Buttler. At 73/0 from 7 overs the English team needed just under 10 runs per over. The introduction of Adam Zampa changed the game as he got the wicket of Phil Salt with his very first ball. This was followed by the wicket of Jos Buttler who was batting on 42 to change the course of the game. Adam Zampa has been one of the best spinners in the T20 format in the last few years and will be a key player to watch out for against Namibia.

2. David Warner

Australian opener David Warner has been in top form in the last few matches for his national side. The veteran batter began the tournament with a fifty and followed it up with a brutal knock against England. The 37-year-old scored 39 runs off just 16 balls with the help of 2 fours and 4 sixes to put early pressure on the England bowlers. His blistering starts with the bat have made him a huge player to watch out for Australia as they take on Namibia next.

1. Travis Head

Left-handed batter Travis Head has been in scintillating form in the last few months. The Australian star was one of the most potent batters during the IPL 2024 season. After his early fall against Oman, Travis Head was back to his best in the game against England. The 31-year-old scored 34 runs off a mere 18 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes and added 70 runs for the first wicket in just 5 overs with David Warner. Namibia will be wary of his threat as Travis Head can be a headache for any team once in his rhythm.
