Suryakumar Yadav is the captain of India’s T20I team and was a key member of the squad that won the T20 World Cup in 2024. A hard-hitting, 360-degree batter, Suryakumar plays with remarkable ease, effortlessly executing shots all around the ground. He showcased his brilliance during four golden years with Mumbai Indians starting in 2018, helping them win the IPL title twice and scoring over 1,700 runs at a strike rate of around 140.

Suryakumar made his international debut relatively late, in 2021, famously hooking the first ball he faced in T20Is, from Jofra Archer, for six. He scored two fifties in his first three T20Is. In the T20I format, he has accumulated over 2,500 runs, while his contributions in other formats remain modest.

Suryakumar Yadav is currently one of the most popular Indian cricketers. His widespread appeal has helped him secure endorsements from numerous Indian and international brands. He serves as the brand ambassador for Moha, Crossbeats, The Indian Garage Co., GenX Innerwear, Lenskart, and UrbanGabru.

In March 2025, Suryakumar Yadav and his wife Devisha purchased two luxury apartments in Mumbai valued at INR 21 crore. Suryakumar Yadav was first picked by Mumbai Indians in the IPL Auction of 2011 for INR 10 lakh and made his IPL debut in 2012. In the 2014 auction, Kolkata Knight Riders acquired him for INR 70 lakh. He remained with KKR until 2017, playing 54 matches and scoring 608 runs at a strike rate of 131.88.
