Bangladesh ended their Test tour of India with a 2-0 series loss on Tuesday. Najmul Shanto and his men had come into the series on the back of a historic win over Pakistan. The series against India was an eye-opener as the Rohit Sharma-led side was much superior to the Pakistanis.
Despite the game not being played for 2 and a half days, India won the game by 7 wickets. There was still a session to play on the 5th day as the home team got to the target. Rishabh Pant hit the winning runs with the bat and took India ever so closer to a place in the WTC 2025 finals.
All is not lost for the Bangladeshi side though as they put up a strong fight during the game. Their spin bowling in particular kept the Indian team on their toes. As far as Team India is concerned every player did well with the bat and ball to ensure an easy series sweep.
Here are the top 3 performers from the Kanpur Test
3. Jasprit Bumrah

India’s ace pacer picked 6 wickets in the game with 3 wickets in each innings. The 30-year-old got 3/50 in the first innings which included the wicket of Mushfiqur Rahim. Bumrah also got the scalps of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam to bowl out the visitors for 233. In the 2nd innings, Bumrah got the same three batters yet again to end with figures of 3/17 and a match haul of 6/67.
2. Mominul Haque

Former Bangladeshi skipper Mominul Haque was the best batter for the visitors in the 1st innings. The left-handed batter scored 107 runs off 194 balls with 17 fours and a six and batted for 298 minutes. When Haque was batting it seemed as if he was dealing with the Indian bowlers on a different surface. His early fall on the 5th day changed the course of the game and led to the fall of the Bangladesh batting order.
1. Yashasvi Jaiswal

Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 123 runs in the game to continue his purple patch in 2024. In the first innings, Jaiswal scored 72 off 51 balls with 12 fours and 2 sixes to help India get a fine start. In the 2nd innings with India needing 95 to win and having lost Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, it was Jaiswal who took charge. The young batter scored 51 off 45 balls with 8 fours and a six to pull off the series win for India.
