Ranking Mushfiqur Rahim’s top 3 innings in Test Cricket

Bangladesh star batter Mushfiqur Rahim is known as one of the best and most destructive Test batters in cricket history. He has taken his side to huge success with his magnificent batting skills in the red-ball game. The stylish right-handed batter holds the highest individual score for Bangladesh in Test cricket. In addition, he is the first and only wicketkeeper batter in the history of Test cricket to score a double century.

Rahim made his Test debut on May 26, 2005, and has played 86 Test matches for his national side. He has 5553 runs to his name, with 10 centuries and 25 fifties.

The star batter’s top Test knock came during the second Test match against Zimbabwe, which was played from November 11 to 15 at Mirpur Cricket Stadium in 2018. The star cricketer piled up an unbeaten 219 runs from 421 balls, featuring 18 fours and one six, to help his side post 522 runs in the first inning. Speaking about the game here, Bangladesh posted 522 and 224 runs in the first and second innings, respectively. However, Zimbabwe could only manage to get 304 and 224 runs, respectively, which made them lose the Test game badly.

Rahim’s second-best Test knock came against the same team when both Bangladesh and Zimbabwe faced off for a one-of-three Test game in Mirpur back in 2020. The star batter hammered unbeaten 203 runs from 318 balls, featuring 28 fours, to help his side stand in the strong spot. Moreover, Zimbabwe posted 265 and 189 runs, respectively. However, Bangladesh had a great total of 560 after the first inning, which helped them win the game by an inning and 106 runs.

The wicketkeeper’s third-best knock came against Sri Lanka during the first Test match, which was played from March 8 to 12 back in 2013 at Galle International Cricket Stadium. Sri Lanka posted 570 and 335 runs in the first and second innings, respectively. However, during the chase, Rahim’s magnificent display helped the team draw the match against a strong home team.
