Harbhajan Singh led Mumbai Indians in 33 IPL matches. He held an equal win-loss record (14). He led Mumbai Indians to their inaugural trophy in the Champions League T20.

Mumbai Indians selected the legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar as their marquee player during the inaugural edition of IPL in 2008. Sachin Tendulkar led the team in the first three seasons. He led Mumbai Indians 55 matches and boasted a commendable win rate of 58%. He led from the front as he captured the orange cap in the 2010 edition of the tournament. The team also finished at the pole spot in the league phase for the first time under Sachin’s captainship.

The ‘captain fantastic’ of Mumbai Indians is arguably the most successful skipper in the history of the Indian Premier League. The team bagged their second CLT20 cup under his captainship in 2011. He went on to add 5 IPL trophies to the club’s cabinet winning it in the years 2013,2015, 2017, 2019,2020. He led Mumbai Indians in 163 matches across 10 editions and maintained an impressive win rate of 55%. Rohit’s reign as the skipper ended in 2024 when all-rounder Hardik Pandya assumed leadership after his transfer from Gujarat Titans.
