Ranking Kolkata Knight Riders’ Top 3 buys from IPL 2025 Mega Auction

KKR retained six players from their 2024 squad ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. They ended up purchasing 15 players from the auctions. While some of them have played for KKR in the past, others will be making their debut for the 3-time champions. KKR have good options apart from the retained players. They have had some mediocre purchases too.

Here are the top 3 buys from KKR from the IPL 2025 Mega Auction –

1. Quinton De Kock (3.6cr INR)

Wicketkeepers went for higher prices in the IPL mega auction 2025. The likes of KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma, and Ishan Kishan were costly. But KKR managed to grab a world-class WK batter for a price of just 3.6cr (INR). It might be a bargain price, considering the record of the South African in the history of the league.

2. Spencer Johnson (2.8cr INR)

Spencer Johnson is one of the best death bowlers in the world. Even with the new ball, he can get some seam movement and operate at a good pace to trouble the batters. Overseas pacers go for high prices often. It wasn’t any different in the mega auction either. But KKR managed to bag Spencer for a price of just 2.8 cr (INR), which can be considered a bargain.

3. Vaibhav Arora (1.8cr INR)

Indian pacers went for a high price at the IPL mega auction 2025. Hence, many thought Vaibhav might bag a huge contract. As it turned out, KKR brought him for just 1.8cr (INR), which might be a daylight steal. He can operate with the new ball and is a wicket-taker. In the title-winning campaign for KKR earlier this year, Arora played a key role.
