Ranking Chennai Super Kings’ Top 3 buys from IPL 2025 Mega Auction

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) would be satisfied with their final squad after picking up some of the best players in the tournament even though they had just 55 crores in the purse. The franchise brought back some old players like Ravichandran Ashwin and Sam Curran, at decent amounts. Their highest buy was Noor Ahmed for INR 10 crores. The player was formerly with the Gujarat Titans and since Chennai pitch favours spinners more, bringing in him was the best decision. The reunion of CSK Trinity, Dhoni, Jadeja and Ashwin would be fun to watch. There have been some interesting buys in the team, let’s have a look at it.

Here are the top three buys for Chennai Super Kings’ in the mega auction:

1. Devon Conway

Devon Conway

Devon Conway would remain at the top position for the kind of stature he has set for the team. He played his last game in the IPL 2023 finals where he scored 47 runs. That innings somewhat helped CSK win the finals. Apart from that, his partnerships with Ruturaj Gaikwad were just outstanding. Having him around means having a reliable batter who scores consistently. So, CSK did a good job going after him in the mega auction.

2. Noor Ahmad

Noor Ahmad

On the Chennai pitch, Noor Ahmed would work wonders. He was in his prime form while playing with the Gujarat Titans last year, extending a supportive hand to Rashid Khan from one end. He made the batters dance on the spin tracks and Chennai is famous for having these rank turners. With Ashwin and Jadeja in the team, Noor would love the atmosphere out there in Chepauk. Again, one of the best decisions by CSK.

3. Rahul Tripathy

Rahul Tripathy

The previous season saw CSK struggling with the middle-order batters. However, this time they wouldn’t be having an issue because they have Rahul Tripathy. Tripathy is an interesting player in the middle order and can be a striker too. Once he gets going, there’s no stopping him. CSK needed someone like him on whom they can rely in the middle overs. Tripathy can give the stability CSK had been craving in the previous season.
