Ranking Hamilton Masakadza’s Top 3 performances in T20I cricket

Hamilton Masakadza is an iconic former player who has played in all formats for Zimbabwe. He was the national team captain during the 2016 ICC World T20 but left the captaincy due to the team’s poor performance in the tournament. He was a right-handed batter and rolled his arms occasionally as a medium-pace bowler. He was the first player to score 150-plus in a series or tournament and achieved the feat against Kenya in 2009. He was an incredible player in the T20I format but couldn’t score a century yet.

1. 93 runs vs Bangladesh, 2016

Masakadza scored a beautiful 93 runs in 2016 against Bangladesh in just 58 balls. His innings included eight boundaries and five sixes. He was in terrific form and helped Zimbabwe score 180 runs in the first innings. Moreover, it was a good game for them as they won by 18 runs. The bowlers did their job and restricted Bangladesh from scoring more runs. Masakadza was given the Player of the Match award for his brilliant innings. 

2. 79 runs vs Canada, 2008

Even back in 2008, Masakadza was a brilliant player and scored 79 runs against Canada. He took just 52 balls, including eight boundaries and three sixes. He was indeed one of the best batters in Zimbabwe, and the team has been missing a class player like him. Zimbabwe scored 184 runs in the first innings and won the game by 109 runs. A poor batting performance by Canada led to their victory. The batter was given the Player of the Match. 

3. 79 runs vs Bangladesh, 2016

Again, in 2016 against Bangladesh in the first T20I game, Hamilton scored 79 runs off 53 balls, including nine boundaries and two sixes. Zimbabwe scored 163 runs and lost the match as the Bangladesh batters were quite outstanding. But for Hamilton’s brilliant batting efforts, he was given the Player of the Match award.
