PSL 2025: Top 3 Bowlers to Watch Out for in LQ vs PZ Clash

The Pakistan Super League ( PSL) 2025 is still ongoing. With the Lahore Qalandars ( LQ) vs. Peshawar Zalmi ( PZ) match just around the corner, some more good action is sure to take place, especially with some electrifying pace bowlers on show. Both teams have displayed some high and low points this season, and their respective performance, of course, seemed to depend a lot on their fast bowlers. 1. Haris Rauf – Lahore Qalandars

He has both pace and variations to move the ball, has an especially deceptive slower ball, and can continue to be a threat to any batting lineup

2. Shaheen Shah Afridi – Lahore Qalandars

The LQ captain and pace spearhead, Shaheen Shah Afridi, continues to show leadership from the front! Afridi still has 9 wickets in 8 matches at an economy rate of 8.11 and is still useful for the Qalandars. He continues to maintain his trademark ability to swing the new ball at high pace, in particular, using the angle from over the wicket against right-handed batsmen, which is a big problem for batsmen in the opening overs. 

While his strike rate of 18 would show he is not striking as frequently as Rauf, the control he exerts and leadership on the field cannot be measured. In the big match against Peshawar Zalmi, his first overs will be critical to laying the foundation for the match. If Afridi can take some early wickets, it could tip the balance in the LQ’s favour.

3. Luke Wood – Peshawar Zalmi

Without a doubt, Luke Wood has been a standout performer for Peshawar Zalmi in terms of bowlers in the debut season. In only 8 games, Wood has managed to take 10 wickets. And in coming on to bowl, consistency is the key factor, this is particularly so for Wood, who has had the best economy of the three players we have discussed here, at 7.58.

Wood is consistent and can continue to punctuate the middle overs, which can relieve pressure on his team as the batsmen will be forced to keep the score ticking. Furthermore, Wood’s left-arm angle and ability to generate sufficient pace on subcontinent pitches make him a big asset for Zalmi with the ball. 

As Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi prepare for a highly anticipated match-up, these three bowlers are likely to have a huge say in the result. With Rauf’s speed, Afridi’s swing and experience, and Wood’s control and discipline, cricket fans can expect a great contest of pace and precision from all three bowlers.
