PSL 2025: Predicting Peshawar Zalmi’s XI against Karachi Kings

Babar Azam and his Peshawar Zalmi side haven’t had a great start to the Pakistan Super League so far. Peshawar will take on Karachi Kings in what is set to be their fourth game of the tournament. With each passing game, the pressure on Peshawar is building to keep pace as Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars have started to create a huge gap.

Karachi Kings have also made a decent start to the tournament and will be a tough side to beat at home. Babar Azam knows the conditions well, having played six seasons with the Karachi Kings outfit and having scored over 2000 runs. It will be a great match-up between two sides who have star power in their ranks.

Here is the likely Peshawar XI vs Karachi in the upcoming PSL 2025 game

Top order

Babar Azam

Peshawar skipper Babar Azam has scored just one run from two games, raising serious doubts about his form. Babar will head back to Karachi and will be looking forward to batting on a track which is conducive for high run scoring. Saim Ayub has come back to cricket after his injury layoff and has begun scoring runs with alarming ease. The left-handed batter will be keen to continue his rich vein of form and help his side win the game.

Middle Order

PSL 2025: Predicting Peshawar Zalmi’s XI against Karachi Kings
Mohammad Haris

The Australian sensation has made a slow start to life in the PSL after his heroics in the Big Bash League. Owen has been pushed up the order for his natural aggression with the bat and ability to clear the field with ease. Mohammad Haris has been one of the few batters who have been scoring runs consistently in the PSL. Haris is a natural timer of the ball and can score runs at an electric pace. Tom Kohler-Cadmore has made a slow start to life in PSL 2025 and will be expected to do much better with the bat.

Lower-order

PSL 2025: Predicting Peshawar Zalmi’s XI against Karachi Kings
Hussain Talat

Hussain Talat is known for his aggressive batting in the death overs in Pakistan domestic cricket. Talat has been getting decent starts with the bat but hasn’t been able to make it count so far. George Linde endured a tough start to the PSL 2025 season, where his wicket column has dried up, as well as his ability to score key runs has vanished. Alzarri Joseph has bowled with good pace and unsettled a few batters with his bounce. The West Indian pacer will be the key bowler for Babar Azam in a bid to turn their season around.

Tail enders

PSL 2025: Predicting Peshawar Zalmi’s XI against Karachi Kings
Ali Raza

One of the biggest problems for Peshawar has been the lack of wickets from their key bowlers. Mohammad Ali, with loads of experience, has failed to stand up and get wickets when needed. Ali Raza, who has been touted as a prospect, has done little to suggest that he is ready for international cricket. Sufiyan Muqeem, too, has struggled to take wickets and build pressure on the opposition that he is known for.

Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Mohammad Haris, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Hussain Talat, Mitchell Owen, George Linde, Alzarri Joseph, Sufiyan Muqeem, Mohammad Ali, Ali Raza
