PSL 2025: Predicting Multan Sultan’s playing XI for their clash against Islamabad United

The ‘struggling’ and ‘down and out’ Multan Sultans will take on the table toppers, Islamabad United, in the 13th match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2025 (PSL 2025). The game will be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan on Wednesday, April 23, at 8:30 PM (IST). 

Multan Sultans are coming off a 33-run win against Lahore Qalandars in the last game, following three consecutive defeats in their first three games. A win in this game will help them move up a spot in the tournament’s points table, surpassing Quetta Gladiators.

Openers –  

The Multan Sultans’ management will look forward to going with the same opening pair of Yasir Khan and skipper Mohammad Rizwan. The duo provided a brilliant start to Multan Sultans in the last game against Lahore Qalandars, stitching an 89-run opening partnership in just 7.1 overs.

Middle-Order – 

The middle order of the Sultans is expected to start with the star wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan at number three. He played a crucial knock of 39 runs off 24 balls, with five fours and a six in the last game against Lahore Qalandars. Usman was followed by Ashton Turner at number, who also added a quick 15 runs off just 8 balls, with one four and a six. 

Furthermore, Michael Bracewell will be there to bat at number five; he shone with the ball in the last game against Qalandars, scalping 2 wickets at 20 runs in three overs. The veteran all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed will be picked as a specialist all-rounder in the Multan Sultans’ playing XI for their next clash against Islamabad United.
