PSL 2025: Predicting Lahore Qalandars XI against Multan Sultans 

Former PSL winner Lahore Qalandars have exhibited great performances so far during this campaign. Shaheen Shah Afridi and his side won the title in 2023 before finishing at the bottom of the table last year. This year, the Qalandars have stormed back to form and done well to be placed fourth in the table with four points from four games. 

In the last meeting against Multan, it was Lahore who ran out as the losers of the game by 33 runs. Lahore’s bowlers conceded a massive 228 on the board, and could reply with only 195 runs on the board. Lahore has to really push on if they are going to make it to the playoffs in the current season.

Top order  

Fakhar Zaman has scored 176 runs for Lahore in the four games played so far. Zaman began the season with one run against Islamabad. This was followed by scores of 67 and 76 in the next two matches before scoring 32 in the last game against Multan. Mohammad Naeem has scored just 36 runs from four games, and his form with the bat will be a huge concern for Lahore going into the second half of the season. 

Middle Order  

Abdullah Shafique has been the backbone of Lahore’s batting unit with 127 runs from four innings. Shafique has been playing a key role in holding one end up and letting others score runs at a brisk pace at the other end. Daryl Mitchell and Sam Billings have played lots of T20 cricket, and the duo will be key for Lahore’s chances of making it to the playoffs. 

Lower-order  

Young Bangladeshi spinner Rishad Hossain has been the bowler to watch out for in the current PSL 2025 season. Hossain has picked up eight wickets from the three games so far this season and has been a huge threat to the opposition batters. Sikandar Raza has already scored 89 runs so far this season with one unbeaten fifty and taken five scalps from four games. Raza’s bowling in the death overs and later overs batting will be key for Lahore. Skipper Shaheen Afridi has picked up six wickets from four games so far in the PSL. The left-arm seamer will have to lead the team by example in what will be the busiest part of the PSL 2025 season. 

Tail enders  

Veteran spinner Asif Afridi has been winning hearts with his performances in the current PSL season. Afridi has already picked up five wickets and bowled with a good economy rate. Haris Rauf and Zaman Khan have had a disappointing campaign for Lahore so far. While Rauf has picked just three wickets, Zaman Khan is yet to take a wicket, and this will be a huge cause of concern for Lahore.
