Predicting Top 3 players from India women vs Ireland women in the second ODI

Indian Women will be up against Ireland Women in the second of the third match of the ODI series on the 12th of January. The first of the three ODIs will occur in Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot. The surface was good for batting in the first ODI. A similar surface will likely be rolled out for the second ODI considering how the pitches have been in the last few weeks.

India would be looking to prepare well for the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 which is set to take place later this year. While Ireland is not a team that has a great record against India, the visiting team could pose a challenge to the home side. If they play well as a unit, Indian women could be in trouble. One can expect a good challenge between the two sides.

Here are the three players who might stand out in the match between India Women and Ireland Women in the 2nd ODI –

Smriti Mandhana

The star batter went bonkers at the top and scored 41 runs in 29 balls which included 6 fours and a six. Mandhana used batting conditions well and struck at an SR of 141.4. She will be key for India to win the second ODI.

Arlene Kelly was the highest wicket-taker for the Irish Women in 2024. She additionally proved her batting prowess in the first ODI against India by adding 28 runs in her 26 balls which ensured Ireland crossed the 200-run mark. As someone who bowls in the end Powerplay phase, she can be handy as an economical bowler. If the batters go after her, she can claim wickets as well.
