Predicting top 3 performers from India for 5th Test

India and England will face each other in the fifth Test from July 31 at the Kennington Oval in London. India last played a Test Match at this venue in 2021 and won by 157 runs. It was India’s second win at the venue and the first in 50 years.

Here are the three players who can be the top performers from India in the 5th Test:

1. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja was one of the reasons India managed to draw the last Test match. He made a century in the game and crossed the 1000-run mark in England. It was his second Test century in England. Jadeja is the fourth-highest run-scorer in the series and has 454 runs to his name at an average of 113.50. He has made four half-centuries and a century in eight innings. He has also picked seven wickets at an economy of 3.48.

2. Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill is on a historical run in the series and has already scored the most runs by an Indian captain on debut. He has amassed 722 runs in eight innings at an average of 90.25 in this series. He is just 52 runs away from scoring the most runs by an Indian batter in a series, a record that Sunil Gavaskar made in the 1970-71 Test series against the West Indies. Gill is the only Indian captain who has scored over 700 runs in an overseas Test series.

3. Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj is the joint-highest wicket-taker for India in the series and has taken 14 wickets at an average of 39.71. He did not have a great outing in the last game and picked just one wicket. However, he would be hoping to end the series on a positive note, especially with Jasprit Bumrah likely to rest.
