Predicting PBKS’s Playing XI for the IPL 2025 Final clash against RCB

Punjab Kings (PBKS) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) in the second qualifier of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season to proceed to the finals. PBKS have managed to reach their second-ever finals after 11 years. Shreyas Iyer was the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders last season after they broke their decade-long wait to win the title. 

If Shreyas Iyer helps PBKS win the title on Tuesday, he will become the first captain to win successive IPL titles with different teams. The 30-year-old played a great innings against MI to stay not out on 87, which came off a mere 41 balls. Iyer also hit eight huge sixes in his knock, which also included the winning hit of the game. 

This season, PBKS have already played RCB thrice and have won just once, and have gone on to lose the next two games. One of those included the first qualifier, where PBKS’ batting was decimated by RCB bowlers. The game on Tuesday night will give PBKS a great chance to take revenge and also win their first IPL title.

Top order  

Left-handed batter Priyansh Arya has been the best batter for PBKS this year and has made it a standout year with the bat. Arya has been giving his side great starts with the bat and has been giving his team good starts in the powerplay overs. Prabhsimran Singh has seen his form flounder after a great start to the season. The 24-year-old will want to regain his form with the bat in the biggest game of the season. 

Middle Order  

Australian wicketkeeper batter Josh Inglis has found form with the bat at the most appropriate time of the season. Inglis has done well in the last few games and played key innings with the bat. Shreyas Iyer has already scored over 600 runs in the season with the bat, and his 87 not out against MI helped his side reach the finals. Nehal Wadhera has done well in his first season, and his 48 against MI was a key innings for his side. 

Lower-order 

PBKS has been blessed to have three players with the ability to change the course of the game. Shashank Singh has been one of the best finishers with the bat this season. Marcus Stoinis and Azmatullah Omarzai have been key for PBKS with the bat and more so with the ball, taking key wickets at crucial junctures of the game. 

Tail enders  

New Zealand seamer Kyle Jamieson has been showing his skills with the bat in the powerplay as well as the death overs. Vijaykumar Vyshak has been decent with the ball since he has gotten a chance to show his skills. Arshdeep Singh has lost his way in the previous games and will want to make a quick comeback to form.
