Predicting Mumbai Indians’ playing XI against Delhi Capitals

Mumbai Indians’ last win came against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on 11th April.

Top Order:

India captain Rohit Sharma along with the hard-hitting wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan opens the batting attack for Mumbai Indians. In eight matches Rohit Sharma has smashed 303 runs which include a century against Chennai Super Kings while his opening partner Ishan Kishan has scored 192 runs and has one half-century to his name. Suryakumar Yadav the T20 specialist batter comes as an impact player for the team. Playing in five games he has scored 140 runs and has two half-centuries in the ongoing IPL. Rising star Tilak Verma adds more power to the top order. In eight matches he has scored 273 runs for the team.

Middle Order and allrounders:

The new captain of Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya comes down the order and stabilizes the middle order if the top order fails to perform. Hardik Pandya has scored 151 runs with the bat and picked four wickets with the ball. Then comes another all-rounder Tim David who can hit big strokes and win matches for the team. In IPL 2024 he has scored 145 runs with an average of 29. Afghanistan’s experienced all-rounder Mohammad Nabi also could win matches for Mumbai Indians. He has played in five games and scored 27 runs. Uncapped all-rounder Nehal Wadhera has got only one chance so far in IPL 2024 in the match against Rajasthan Royals where he scored 49 runs. 

Bowlers:

South Africa’s young fast bowler Gerald Coetzee along with Jasprit Bumrah opens the pace attack for Mumbai Indians. Gerald Coetzee has played eight games and picked 12 wickets and has an economy of 10.11.  Jasprit Bumrah is a key player in the bowling unit. Playing in eight games he has picked 13 wickets and is the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2024. While they get support from Nuwan Thushara and Piyush Chawla. Piyush Chawla has played five games and picked three wickets while Nuwan Thushara made his debut for Mumbai Indians against Rajasthan Royals. He did not take any wickets in that match.
