Predicting INA’s Playing XI for the 7th Match against PHI

As the Indonesia Tri-Nation T20I Series 2025 enters the final stages, the hosts prepare to face the Philippines in the 7th match. Following South Korea’s triumph over the Philippines and Indonesia’s 52-run victory over South Korea last night, Indonesia gained confidence heading into the match. With a place in the final on the line, it’s all about selecting the right playing XI to build momentum and finish it off at home.

Openers

Indonesia’s opening pair in the previous match, Gede Priandana and Dharma Kesuma, gave the team the start it desperately needed. Kesuma was solid in the powerplay, scoring 38 from 32 balls, including two sixes, with his ability to clear the infield with boundaries and rotate the strike. His temperament at the top has made him a trusty opener. Priandana’s 37 from 26 was classy and made a difference too.

He scored over 140 strike rate and was intent on playing the shots with some lovely boundaries and a calm reprieve against pace and spin. He also took a wicket and was named Player of the Match, which only adds to his all-rounder credentials.

Middle Order

Kadek Gamantika capped the fireworks against South Korea with a blistering 36 from only 21 balls. His muscle in the lower-order batting took a good total to a match-winning one. He smashed 3 fours and 2 sixes, meaning the run rate was still being maintained through the last few overs. Before that, Anjar Tadarus was a key batsman at No 3 with a reassuring knock of 13 from 15 balls after the first wicket.

Although the runs won’t jump off the page, his presence of mind through a mini-collapse at that point was so valuable! Additionally, he was useful with the ball as well and took a key wicket at a crucial moment, which makes him a valuable middle-order batsman.

All-Rounders

Indonesia is fortunate to have genuine all-around match-winners in Sampath Kharvi and Gede Priandana. We’ve already said a lot about Priandana, but it is worth reiterating – Priandana was instrumental with the bat, and he also took the wicket of the dangerous Kuldeep Gurjar. Kharvi also played his part with bat and ball.

His 9-ball innings scored just 9 runs, but he was able to get South Korea’s in-form opener, Dilruksha, with a clever piece of bowling. Kharvi’s ability to perform in both innings and break partnerships makes him a player that any captain will want on the team. The sort of player who could win a game outright by either rescuing a team’s innings or providing a breakthrough with the ball.

Bowlers

Ferdinando Banunaek was simply unplayable in the last game. He sliced through the South Korean lower order with figures of 3 for 9 in 3 overs, boasting deadly accuracy and variation. His economy of 3.00 speaks to his control alone, while with those wickets, he broke the back of the opposition. And a huge shout-out to Maxi Koda – not only did he remove two middle-order batters with clever and intelligent bowling, but he did so with an even tidier economy.

In his 4-over spell, he allowed only 29 runs, while also applying pressure when it seemed South Korea was beginning to counterattack. For Indonesia, with Koda running in as a frontline seamer and Banunaek dominating with pace and brains, their bowling unit appears dangerous and fairly well-rounded.

Indonesia appears to be prepared for the assessment against the Philippines after impressive contributions from key players in their previous match-up. If their star players repeat that caliber of performance, they will be very difficult to beat. There is every indication that the host nation will put on another great showing in this must-see match.
