The new World Test Championship Cycle is officially underway with various international test-playing nations preparing to begin their 2025-27 campaign. The Subcontinental rivals Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will start with their 2-match test series on June 17th. The first test will be played at the Galle International Stadium. Both teams have announced their 16-member squads ahead of the first test match. Bangladesh will be looking to begin their new WTC campaign on a high and may choose the following playing eleven heading into the match.
Batters-

The Bangladeshi batting order looks pretty settled with a good mix of experience and youth. The batting unit will be headed by Bangladeshi veteran Mushfiqur Rahim, who will be playing his 97th test match. He will be the backbone of Bangladesh’s lower middle order. At the top, Shadman Islam, Shanto and Litton Das will be expected to deliver the goods. Jaker Ali will also be a key component of the batting unit.
All-rounders –

Mehidy Hasan Miraz will lead the pack of all-rounders for Bangladesh. He, along with Taijul and Nayeem, is expected to provide balance to the side with both bat and ball. Since the team will be playing at spinner’s paradise, all three are going to be key players with the ball in their hands. They may also be needed to get some runs should the Bangladeshi top order collapse.
Bowlers-

The young Bangladeshi bowling trio Ibadot Hossain, Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana will be looking to make their mark on Sri Lankan soil. The three right-arm fast bowlers will be looking to give a good start to the team. All three differentiate in how they bowl and will be playing different roles at different stages of the innings.
