Devon Conway was born at Johannesburg, Transvaal, on July 8 in 1991. The southpaw was one of the late bloomers and succeeded very early in his career. 

Conway was a part of the New Zealand side that was at its peak in the late 2010s and the early 2010s. Conway made his international debut in T20Is in 2020 at the age of 29. 

He was a consistent performer in the format till 2022, a period in which he averaged 48.75 and maintained a strike rate of 130.58. In the same period, he was quite prolific in Test cricket, performing well in New Zealand’s first series win in England in over 20 years. Additionally, he played a critical role in the WTC Final against India. Conway played a key role in strengthening New Zealand’s top order across formats, following the exit of Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, and others. 

The experienced batter has 1836 runs in 27 Tests at an average of 36.72, including four hundreds and 11 fifties. In ODIs, he has 1431 runs in 35 matches at an average of 44.72 and a strike rate of 87.74, including five hundreds and four fifties. In T20Is, Conway has 1408 runs in 46 innings at an average of 38.05 including 10 fifties. 

Over the years, he has played for some major T20 teams like Chennai Super Kings, Joburg Super Kings, Somerset, and others. He was a part of the CSK team that won its fifth IPL title in 2023 and was one of the highest run-scorers in the tournament. With New Zealand, he won the World Test Championship final, their first major ICC title win in 21 years.
