OTD MS Dhoni became the first player to feature in 200 IPL matches in 2020

Dhoni came to lead the Super Kings in the 2021 season and helped the team win the trophy for the fourth time. Next year, CSK finished in second-last position once again. In 2023, the Dhoni-led side lifted the IPL trophy once again and equalled MI’s record of five wins.

As of 2025, Dhoni has played 248 matches in IPL and has scored 4865 runs at an average of 39.23. He has hit 342 boundaries and 234 sixes. He is the leading run-scorer for the Super Kings in the IPL.
