Jemimah Rodrigues was born in 2000 on this day, September 5,  in the Bhandup area of Mumbai, Maharashtra to her parents Ivan and Lavita Rodrigues. She also has two brothers, Enoch and Eli. She did her schooling at St. Joseph’s Convent High School, Mumbai, and Rizvi College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Mumbai.

Jemimah started young at four years old and played cricket and hockey in her younger years. She began playing U-19 cricket with the Mumbai squad during the 2012–13 season, and at the age of 13, she was chosen for the Maharashtra U-19 state team.

During the 2016–17 domestic season, she amassed 665 runs in 10 innings. The following season, she performed better, scoring five hundred and a double-ton and 1,013 runs. She received her first India call-up because of her domestic cricket performance.

Jemimah made her India Women’s ODI and T20I debut in 2018 and her Test debut in 2023. She has become a vital member of the Indian middle order. Thus far, she has 1439 runs at an average of 32.70 in 50 ODIs with two centuries and seven fifties.

Jemimah has played 112 T20Is, scoring 2375 runs at a strike rate of 116.47 with 13 fifties while in three tests, she has 235 runs with a best of 73 with three fifties.

Not only for India, Jemimah has shone in T20 leagues as well, like the Women’s Premier League, Women’s BBL, Women’s CPL, and the Women’s Hundred. She has been a star in WPL with 507 runs in 27 games while in WBBL, she has 644 runs in 30 games. In the Women’s Hundred, Jemimah has 453 runs in 19 games with four fifties and a best of 92*.

Jemimah has become one of the most known faces of the Indian women’s cricketing scene and will remain part of women’s cricket for times to come.
