Rashid Khan (23) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (28) then helped Afghanistan finish with 284 runs on the board. Gurbaz was the highest scorer for Afghanistan as he made 80 off 57 while Adil Rashid was the pick of the bowlers for England as he took three wickets for 42 runs in 10 overs.
England lost their first four wickets for under 100 runs. Harry Brook played a fine knock of 66 runs off 61 deliveries, however, he received no support from the other end, as no English batter apart from Brook scored more than 35. England were eventually bundled out for 215 runs, losing the match by 69 runs as Rashid and Mujeeb took three wickets each. England were all out for less than 250 runs twice in the tournament after this game.
England won three out of nine games and finished in seventh position. Afghanistan lost their next two matches against India and Australia and finished in sixth place.
