IPL 2026, Match 9: Predicted GT XI vs RR

IPL 2026, Match 9 Predicted GT XI vs RR

Gujarat Titans will look to bounce back when they host Rajasthan Royals in Match 9 of IPL 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After a narrow defeat to Punjab Kings in their opening game, GT will be eager to make the most of home conditions and get their first points on the board.

GT posted 162 in their previous outing but could not defend it despite pulling things back impressively in the death overs. They will now aim for a more complete performance.

GT Predicted Playing XI

Top Order: Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (C), Jos Buttler (WK)

Sai Sudharsan had a rather poor outing in the opening encounter, scoring just 13 runs in 11 balls. Still, his ability to anchor will be crucial to this GT side.

Shubman Gill got a start but could nOt convert it into a big score, managing 39 at the top. As captain, he will be expected to take more responsibility and play a defining knock.

Jos Buttler showed glimpses of intent but never really dominated, scoring 38 off 33 balls. GT will want him to be more aggressive in the powerplay and maximise the fielding restrictions.

Middle Order: Washington Sundar, Glenn Phillips, M Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia

Washington Sundar contributed a handy 18 runs and also chipped in with the ball, picking up a wicket, offering control in the middle overs.

Glenn Phillips had a good outing with the bat and remains a dangerous player capable of changing the game in a few overs, and not to forget his fielding heroics.

Shahrukh Khan could not make much impact in the previous match, but his finishing ability will be key, especially if GT needs late acceleration. Like Shahrukh, Rahul Tewatia failed to give his side a finishing touch against PBKS, will be expected to come good against his former IPL side.

Bowlers: Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Ashok Sharma, Mohammed Siraj

Rashid Khan delivered a tight spell, picking up a wicket and keeping the scoring in check during the middle overs. He will once again be GT’s biggest weapon against RR’s strong batting lineup.

Kagiso Rabada also picked up a wicket but was struggling with consistency and proved to be exepnsive. Ashok Sharma supported well, and will look to be more penetrative in this fixture.

Mohammed Siraj had a mixed outing, conceding runs early but coming back well in patches. His role with the new ball remains crucial for early breakthroughs.

Impact Player: Prasidh Krishna
