IPL 2026 Match 40: PBKS Predicted Playing XI vs RR

IPL 2026 Match 40: PBKS Predicted Playing XI vs RR

The table toppers Punjab Kings (PBKS) will take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 40 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur on April 28.

The Kings are coming into this contest after a historic chase of 265 runs against Delhi Capitals. It was the highest-ever chase in T20 history. So, they will enter this clash high on confidence.

PBKS Predicted Playing XI vs DC

Top-order: Prabhsimran Singh (WK), Priyansh Arya, Cooper Connolly

The Punjab opening duo of Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya is the hottest opening pair going around in IPL 2026 with their breathtaking power hitting in the powerplay overs. Prabhsimran has been a standout contributor for this side, whereas Arya can take the game on from the first ball itself. Cooper Connolly, too, has made his mark in a short period of time.

Middle-order: Shreyas Iyer (Ct), Shashank Singh, Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jansen

The middle-order of the PBKS will be led from the front by their captain Shreyash Iyer. He has been the aggressor in the middle overs, scoring runs at a quick rate while also maintaining consistency. Shashank Singh is still finding his form, and is under fire for his sloppy fielding. Marcus Stoinis and Marco Jansen add immense value to the side with their all-round presence.

Lower order/Bowlers: Xavier Bartlett, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal

The PBKS bowlers will need to up their game after conceding 250+ runs against Delhi. But with their team on a winning run, they can afford that to an extent. Xavier Bartlett has been exceptional, especially with his wicket-taking ability if not always the economy rate. Arshdeep Singh will lead the attack with the new ball along with Vijaykumar Vyshak while Yuzvendra Chahal will take the spin duties.
