IPL 2025: Top 3 batters to watch out for in RR vs RCB clash

We are now in the week of the Indian Premier League’s 18th edition’s reverse fixtures.  At Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore will square off.  As the campaign draws to a close, both teams will be keen to earn all three points. 

The Lucknow Super Giants upset the Rajasthan Royals by just two runs in their most recent game.  In the meantime, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Punjab Kings by a commanding 9 wickets.  Both clubs are vying for a postseason berth, so this forthcoming game is crucial.  With ten points, RCB is currently in third place, while RR is lagging in eighth place with four points.

RR and RCB have previously clashed against each other 33 times, with RCB holding a marginal lead in terms of wins. RCB have won 16 of the 33 matches while RR have won 14, and  3 matches ended without any results. The M Chinnaswamy Stadium is often considered a batter’s paradise, and hence both teams will be relying on their batsman to get the job done.

Here are three batters to watch out for in this fixture:

3. Vaibhav Suryavanshi

The 14-year-old kid from Bihar took the world by surprise when he hit a maximum on the first ball he faced in his IPL career. The kid dispatched Indian-capped all-rounder Shardul Thakur’s delivery over long off for a six. The southpaw batter hit 3 maximums and two boundaries on his IPL debut. He scored 33 runs off 20 deliveries at a strike rate of 170. All cameras will lean on him when he takes the crease on Chinnaswamy.

2. Yashasvi Jaiswal

The explosive left-handed Indian opener has been in phenomenal form over the last few games. He has scored 307 runs in eight innings for Rajasthan at a strike rate of nearly 140. Additionally, he has recorded four half-centuries in his last six matches. He will play a pivotal role in providing a solid start for the inaugural Champions.

1.  Virat Kohli

The undisputed king of world cricket, RCB’s former captain, will again have all the limelight when he takes the crease at Chinnaswamy. The modern-day great was on duty in the last match, where he helped RCB beat PBKS by 9 wickets. Two-time Orange Cap winner Kohli is also in contention for the award this season, having scored 322 runs in 8 innings.
