IPL 2025: Predicting LSG’s Playing XI for their clash against GT

Openers –  

The opening pair of Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram provided a strong and outstanding opening start to LSG in the last game against SRH. The duo stitched a 115-run partnership in 10.3 overs. So, the LSG management will look forward to going with the same opening pair in the next game against GT.

Middle-Order – 

The LSG middle-order will start with the skipper Rishabh Pant at number three; he has been in a dismal run of form with the bat in IPL 2025. But he will aim to make a strong comeback and play a big knock for his side in this game. He will be followed by the star in-form batter Nicholas Pooran at number four, who scored 45 runs off just 26 balls, with six fours and a six in the last game. 

Later in the middle-order, Ayush Badoni will be there to bat at number five, followed by Abdul Samad at number six. Both the batters are capable of scoring some crucial rune in the middle or death overs to help their side post a big total on the board.

All-Rounder –  

Star pace-bowling all-rounder Shadul Thakur can be selected as a specialist all-rounder in the LSG playing XI for the next game against GT. He has been in brilliant bowling form in the ongoing 18th edition of the tournament. He also scalped a wicket in the previous game against SRH. 

Besides that, he might also bat at number seven to add some impactful runs on the board in the death overs. So, he would be a perfect choice to be picked as an all-rounder in the playing XI for the upcoming clash against Shubman Gill’s men. 

Bowlers –  

The core bowling attack of the Lucknow Super Giants will include three pacers, Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, and Will O’Rourke, who claimed a wicket in the previous game. Ravi Bishnoi could be a crucial asset at the spin-friendly track at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He might trouble the opponent batters in the middle overs of the game. The LSG will miss the services of the star spinner Digvesh Rathi, who has been suspended for a match after a heated altercation with the young SRH batter Abhishek Sharma.
