IPL 2025: Predicting DC’s playing XI for their clash against KKR

Openers 

The DC management might look ahead to going with the same opening pair of Abishek Porel and Karun Nair. The duo provided a quick start of 36 runs in just 3.4 overs against LSG in the last game, but they failed to convert it into a big partnership. In this game against KKR, they will aim to make a strong opening partnership to help their side post a big total. 

Abishek Porel played a decisive half-century knock, scoring 51 runs off 36 balls, with five fours and a six. Besides him, Karun Nair also contributed with 15 runs off 9 balls, with two fours and a six. So, this would be a perfect opening duo for DC in the game against KKR. 

Middle-Order  

DC’s middle order is highly expected to start with the veteran wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul at number three, who has been in a sensational run of form with the bat in the ongoing IPL 2025. He also smashed a match-winning and unbeaten knock of 57 runs off 42 balls, with three fours and three sixes against LSG in the last game.

Bowlers  

The bowling attack of the Capitals will include three out-and-out pacers, Mitchell Starc, Dushmantha Chameera, and Mukesh Kumar. The duo of Starc and Mukesh Kumar could pose a serious threat to the opponent batters in the powerplay phase. Mukesh Kumar claimed a sensational four-wicket haul in the last game against LSG, scalping 4 wickets at 33 runs in his 4 overs, alongside a wicket each picked by Chameera and Starc. 

The pace trio is expected to be accompanied by the specialist and in-form spinner Kuldeep  Yadav, who could be quite lethal at the spin-friendly track of the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
