IPL 2025: Predicting CSK’s playing XI for their clash against MI

This IPL season for Chennai Super Kings has had many ups and downs. Playing in seven games, CSK has won two games so far. In their first game of IPL 2025, CSK defeated Mumbai Indians, and since then, the team has gone on a five-game losing streak. CSK ended their losing streak in the most recent game against Lucknow Super Giants.

Meanwhile, CSK suffered another setback as captain Ruturaj Gaikwad had to leave the season mid-way due elbow injury. However, MS Dhoni is returned as the captain of the team which will help the team to brace up as the playoff race starts heating up. 

Top Order:

Rachin Ravindra will be opening the batting attack with Shaik Rasheed for CSK. In his debut game, Shaik Rasheed showed great batting skills and had a 50-50-run partnership with Rachin Ravindra for the first wicket. With a lot of experience, Rachin Ravindra needs to fasten up things to give the team a good start. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s replacement Ayush Mhatre can make his debut against Mumbai Indians. He has played a lot of cricket at Wankhede Stadium and can very well adapt to the conditions.

Middle Order: 

Shivam Dube adds power to the batting line up with his hard hitting batting style. He can stand and deliver easily when he gets in form. Vijay Shankar needs to step up as CSK is struggling in the middle order. The team will need his batting in order to get runs on the scoreboard. While Ravindra Jadeja will do the work of supporting pillars. With batting and bowling skills Ravindra Jadeja is a key player in the team. 

Lower-Middle Order:

Despite the age MS Dhoni is still a game changer for CSK. In last he scored 26 runs off 11 balls which helped the team to get second win of IPL 2025. Jamie Overton bowling all-rounder can make a cameo. He can stand and support other batters. 

Lower Order:

Khaleel Ahmed will open the bowling attack for CSK. In power play overs Khaleel Ahmed usally strikes with the new ball. With perfect line and length and swing the ball Khaleel gives the team a good start with the ball. Anshul Kamboj will be giving support to his pace attack. Noor Ahmad is the leading wicket taker in IPL 2025. In upcoming games CSK will need him to do more damage with the ball.

Impact Player: Matheesha Pathirana will be the second bowler for CSK. Matheesha Pathirana is a key player for the team in death overs.
