IPL 2025: 3 things RCB should do to win match against MI

IPL 2025 3 things RCB should do to win match against MI

After losing to Gujarat Titans by a big margin of 8 wickets in their previous game, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will face Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 20th game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). It will be an important match to win for RCB to move to the top spot in the tournament’s points table.

There had been a few errors from RCB during the last game against GT, resulting in their debacle. So, it will be crucial for Rajat Patidar’s men to fix their issues and come up with a strong performance in their next clash against MI.

With that said, here we’ll have a look at the 3 things RCB should do to win the match against the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians.

Bowlers need to step up.

While defending the first-innings total of 169 runs, it was the bowling attack for RCB that failed to live up to the expectations. Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were the only two bowlers to scalp a wicket each. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the only bowler to deliver an economical spell, conceding only 23 runs in 4 overs.

So, the other bowlers will also have step to provide a big support for Bhuvneshwar Kumar in their effort to bundle out Mumbai Indians early, be it in the first innings or in the second innings.

A change in strategies

In the last game against GT, there were a lot of strategic errors from RCB that happened to cost them the game. It included a few decisions in introducing the bowlers in the attack or a failure to judge the situation after the failure of the top order while batting first.

Besides that, there were also fielding errors from RCB that pushed the game away from them. So, they are also in a big need to come up with a change in their strategies, be it in the fielding or judging the situation to shuffle the batting order accordingly.

Top Order to take charge in batting

The top order of RCB’s batting attack failed miserably in the last game against Gujarat Titans as they lost 4 wickets at the score of just 42 runs. Openers, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli could score only 14 and 7 runs followed by only 4 and 12 runs scored by Devdutt Padikkal and skipper Rajat Patidar, who came to bat at number three and number four.

So, it will be very crucial for RCB’s top-order batter to take charge to help their side post a big total on the board in both conditions, be it batting first or while chasing the target. It will be one of the most important DOs for RCB to win the game against Mumbai Indians.
