IPL 2025: 3 things Delhi Capitals will look to improve from last year

IPL 2025: 3 things Delhi Capitals will look to improve from last year

As the Indian Premier League 2025 approaches, the Delhi Capitals must be looking for areas of improvement as compared to IPL 2024. The side had a mixed bag during last year’s edition after ending their journey in a sixth spot. Despite Rishabh Pant’s comeback following his accidental grave injuries, they failed to make it to the knockout stage.

As the side aims to shift their momentum to the IPL 2025, here are the three areas of concern to look forward to.

Need a strong bowling unit

It has been witnessed that the Delhi Capitals were overly reliant on star pacer Ishant Sharma despite having talented players in the team like Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. The side nearly failed to capitalize on their bowling unit in the IPL 2024, but they need to showcase their bowling talent this time.

The side boasts a strong pace unit and spinners, but they are in need of a balanced bowling strategy this time to make use of their bowlers according to the situation.

Need a strong batting performance.

Notably, the DC side failed to get a great start in the IPL 2024 after their opening batter David Warner and Prithvi Shaw had struggled with the bat. However, young sensation Abishek Porel had a great outing, but despite that, the side needs to boast a great batting unit this time and needs a solid opening foundation. They are in need of batters who can bat freely, especially in the death overs and the power plays of the game.

For the IPL 2025, they need to build a strong foundation at the top order of the game alongside needed batters who can handle the crucial middle overs of the game.

Need consistent wins this time.

Delhi Capitals struggled to win more than two matches back-to-back in the IPL 2024. However, they need winning momentum this time, and this could only happen if they manage to get some consecutive wins.

They need to build a strong bowling and batting attack, alongside using impact players who can guide them to some strong wins in the upcoming edition.
