IPL 2025: 3 things Chennai Super Kings will look to improve from last year

IPL 2025: 3 things Chennai Super Kings will look to improve from last year

The Indian Premier League 2025 is around the corner, and the five-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings must be aiming for their performance in the IPL 2024 to look for the areas for improvement in the IPL 2025. Notably, Ruturaj Gaikwad and his men failed to make it to the playoffs after RCB crushed them in the last game of the league stage in last year’s edition.

It’s worth noting that IPL 2024 will be counted as a transition year for this side after legendary cricketer MS Dhoni steps down as a skipper. However, to bolster their chances to grab their sixth title, the side needs to look to these three areas of improvement as compared to the last edition.

The side needs consistent performance.

The five-time IPL champions need a consistent performance in the forthcoming edition. The side has had some convincing wins in IPL 2024, especially their win against Gujarat Titans, but at the same time, they have major setbacks as well.

They need to show consistency and win the matches continuously to bolster their rankings and make it to the playoffs. The players need to make sure they are giving high performance, especially at Chepauk.

Need to use impact players properly.

The side needs to use their tactical skills and pragmatic approach to use the impact players in the game. Notably, CSK has used Shivam Dube on a plethora of occasions in the IPL 2024 and has had great success.

Apart from him, no other players marked their impact, especially the bowlers, so they need to use impact players accordingly, as impact players can play a huge role in the outcome of the game.

Depth in the bowling lineup

The side is set to pose big hitters with the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube, Mitchell Santner, and Ravindra Jadeja in the IPL 2024, but their bowling performance was the disappointing one, and mostly players ruled out due to injuries and national commitments.

It clearly showcases that the five-time IPL champions need to bolster their bowling lineups, as a well-rounded bowling attack of the team can help them dismantle opponents’ batting units in the matches.
