IPL 2025: 3 GT players who were earlier in DC

Gujarat Titans clashed against Delhi Capitals in match number 35 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Gujarat team have won the toss and elected to field first. Delhi Capitals staged a formidable total of 203 runs in their quota of 20 overs with contributions from Stubbs, Ashutosh Sharma and Axar Patel. However, seemed unfazed in their chase and hit the winning runs with four balls to spare. Jos Butler has led the chase with 97 runs of his own, where, Rutherford contributed 43 runs.

Ishant Sharma, the pace bowler hailing from Delhi, represented Delhi Capitals from 2019 to 2024. In the 2025 auction, the Gujarat Titans acquired him for ₹75 Lakhs. At 36 years old, he played a major role in DC’s playoff qualification in 2019. In DC’s sole final appearance in 2020, Ishant participated in only one match, and he played three games during their playoff run in 2021.

South African speedster Kagiso Rabada had an impressive IPL seasons with Delhi Capitals from 2017 to 2021. His standout performance came in 2020, when he scalped 30 wickets in 17 matches, earning him the coveted Purple Cap. Rabada added another 15 wickets to his tally, contributing to DC’s third consecutive playoff qualification. In the 2025 auction, he was acquired by GT for ₹10.75 crores.

Rahul Tewatia has established himself as GT’s go-to finisher since his arrival in 2022. At 31, he was a key spinner for DC during his two seasons in 2018 and 2019. Tewatia’s late-game heroics have been instrumental in propelling GT to back-to-back finals in 2022 and 2023, culminating in a championship in the former year.
