IMLT20 2025: Predicting Sri Lanka Masters’ playing XI for their clash against West Indies Masters

Sri Lanka Masters and West Indies Masters will be up against each other in the 10th match of the IMLT20 2025. Kotambi Stadium will host the match from 7:30 PM (IST) on the 6th of March 2025. Both Sri Lanka and West Indies are in a good position in the league. While Sri Lanka Masters are in the second spot, West Indies Masters are just a position lower than them.

In their previous match, West Indies Masters overcame England Masters in a thriller by 8 runs. On the other hand, Sri Lanka Masters had a much closer game, as they won against Australia Masters by just three runs. A win in the upcoming match would further strengthen Sri Lanka and West Indies’ chances. Hence, one can expect a good contest between the two sides.

Predicted playing XI of Sri Lanka Masters for their match against West Indies Masters in the IMLT20 2025 –

Top Order

Upul Tharanga

Sri Lanka’s batting has been their biggest strength in the IMLT20. All of their top 3 batters are in good form. Upul Tharanga and Kumar Sangakkara have provided good starts to their side. Additionally, Sangakkara has led the side well and kept the wickets brilliantly for his age. To follow them at number 3 would be Lahiru Thirimanne who has been impressive as well.

Middle Order

Asela Gunaratne

Even in the middle order, Sri Lanka Masters have had good performers. Asela Gunaratne has been good with the bat. He can win matches on his own. Chinthaka Jayasinghe and Jeevan Mendis are likely to bat at numbers 5 and 6 respectively. They haven’t got enough balls to bat. But they can step up when needed to add some runs lower down the order.

Lower Middle Order

Isuru Udana

In the lower middle order, Sri Lanka is likely to continue with Isuru Udana and Seekkuge Prasanna. Neither of them have been impressive with the ball. As the pitches have often been good for batting, Sri Lankan All-rounders have struggled with the ball. They haven’t got enough chances to show their capabilities with the bat.

Bowlers

Chaturanga De Silva

Sri Lanka’s bowling has been managed mostly by Chaturanga De Silva. He has been their highest wicket taker with not a great deal of support from the other end. Nuwan Pradeep and Dhanmika Prasad need to help De Silva. The All-rounders and part-time bowlers need to be handy to ensure SL becomes a more dominant side in the league.
