ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026: Top 3 bowlers from India Cricket Team

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 turned out to be a memorable campaign for India as they lifted the title for the third time, becoming the first team in history to achieve the feat. India began their campaign strongly in the group stage, registering victories over the United States, Pakistan, Namibia and Netherlands.

In the Super Eight stage, they suffered their only defeat of the tournament against South Africa. However, India bounced back strongly with wins over Zimbabwe and West Indies to seal a place in the semi-finals. In the knockout stage, India defeated England in the semi-final before delivering a commanding performance against New Zealand in the final to successfully defend their title.

Here are top three bowlers from India in T20 World Cup 2026:

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah once again proved why he is regarded as one of the best T20 bowlers in the world. The pace spearhead finished the tournament as the joint-highest wicket-taker, playing a crucial role in India’s title-winning campaign.  The right-arm fast bowler claimed 14 wickets in eight innings at an outstanding average of 12.42, with an impressive economy rate of 6.21 and a strike rate of 12.

Bumrah was rested for India’s opening match against the United States but made an immediate impact upon his return against Namibia, finishing with figures of 1/20. In the high-voltage clash against Pakistan, he delivered a brilliant spell of 2/17. Bumrah followed it up with another disciplined performance of 1/17 against the Netherlands.

One of his best spells came in the first Super Eight match, where he claimed 3/15. Although he went wicketless against Zimbabwe, he bounced back strongly with 2/36 against West Indies. In the semi-final, Bumrah produced a crucial spell of 1/33, bowling two tight overs in the death that helped India maintain control of the match. He saved his best performance for the final against New Zealand, where he delivered a sensational spell of 4/15 and was deservedly named Player of the Match.

He made an immediate impact in the group stage, starting with 1/24 against the United States before delivering a brilliant spell of 3/7 against Namibia. Chakravarthy continued his strong run with figures of 2/17 against Pakistan and 3/14 against the Netherlands, playing a crucial role in restricting opposition teams.

However, the Super Eight stage proved more challenging as batters targeted him aggressively. He finished with figures of 1/47 against South Africa, 1/35 against Zimbabwe, and 1/40 against West Indies. Despite the pressure, he continued to provide breakthroughs when needed. In the semi-final against England, Chakravarthy picked up 1/64, while in the final he managed 1/39, contributing to India’s bowling effort in the title clash.
