Champions Trophy 2025 Top 3 bowlers from Afghanistan vs South Africa clash

South Africa kickstarted their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign with a huge win over Afghanistan by 107 runs. This was the start of matches in Group B which also consists of England and Australia. Ryan Rickelton led the way for his side with 103 runs as the Proteas posted 315 on the board.

South African skipper Temba Bavuma was happy with the performance and said at the end of the game “Clinical performance. We took the brave decision to bat first not knowing about the wicket. We were then clinical with the ball too, closest to one of our best performances. The wicket looked a lot different to what we are used to in Pakistan”

Afghanistan skipper Hasmatullah Shahidi said “I think we were not good enough while batting. The pitch was helping them in the second innings, but the way we batted in the first 20 overs wasn’t up to the mark. I think the toss was key today, there were many cracks on this pitch. Wasn’t a typical Karachi pitch. Their bowlers though bowled disciplined lengths”

Here are the top three bowlers from South Africa vs Afghanistan clash:

3- Marco Jansen

South African pacer Marco Jansen bowled eight overs with one maiden and picked one wicket for 32 runs. The left-arm seamer made good use of the short ball and got the Afghan batters hopping in the crease with his hostile deliveries. Jansen ensured that the Afghanistan batters didn’t get off to a good start in their chase of 316 runs to win. His only wicket of the game was that of Mohammad Nabi but by then Proteas were well on their way to a win.

2- Mohammad Nabi
