India and New Zealand are the last two remaining teams in the Champions Trophy 2025 after beating Australia and South Africa in their semifinal matches respectively. The final of the tournament will take place at the Dubai International Stadium from 2:30 PM (IST) on the 9th of March 2025. Both India and New Zealand have a good team. It could be anyone’s game considering the lineup of both the teams.
New Zealand has done well collectively as a unit. After having a horrible outing in the T20 World Cup 2024, NZ was able to enter the finals of the following tournament in the CT 2025. On the other hand, India continued their good momentum in the ICC tournaments and are a step closer to winning their second major tournament in under a year. One can expect a good match between two sides.
Predicted playing XI of India for their final match against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025 –
Top Order –

India’s top order is packed with run accumulators. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will continue to open. Sharma has been handy in most of the matches with his timely cameos. Gill was good in the matches against Bangladesh and Pakistan. Virat Kohli has been in fine form, especially after a match winning knock against Australia in the semifinal.
Middle Order –

Even in the middle order, India have had good performers. Shreyas Iyer can spend some time in the middle and attack the bowlers from his end in the middle overs. To follow him will be Axar Patel, who has had a good tournament as an All-rounder. KL Rahul at number 6 has done a fine job. His finishing has been timely and wicket keeping has been good enough.
Lower Middle Order –

In the lower middle order, India has the likes of Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja. Pandya has been good with both bat and ball. While he didn’t get an opportunity against Bangladesh and Pakistan to bat, Hardik did well against New Zealand and Australia. Jadeja has been good with the ball and can step up if needed as a batter. They form a great All-round duo lower down the order.
Bowlers –

The Indian bowling attack is loaded with various types of spinners. Apart from Jadeja and Axar, two left-arm orthodox spinners, Indian spin attack has a chinaman spinner like Kuldeep Yadav and a mystery spinner like Varun Chakravarthy. Both have done a fine job so far. Mohammed Shami has been good with the new ball and can be great at the death.
