Bowlers to dismiss Brian Lara most number of times in Tests

Brain Charles Lara, one of the greatest batsmen ever, ruled the game of cricket for 17 years and set numerous records during the course of his red-ball career. Since Bradman, no one has ever constructed enormous scores as frequently, quickly, or elegantly as Brian Lara did in his prime. Even his posture, with the bat raised high in the air and his weight balanced on a bent front knee, was exciting.

Till this time, the West Indian legend holds the record for highest individual score by any batter in a single inning of a Test match. Lara encountered bowlers from all over the world along the road, and while he hit a ton of runs, he also struggled harder against some bowlers than others. Here are the List of some of the bowlers who made Lara struggle.

Andre Nel was a powerful, bludgeoning fast bowler, who, in contrast to his conservative Afrikaans upbringing, had one of the most tumultuous disciplinary histories in South African cricket. Nel was anticipated as a future international from a young age, and he first gained notoriety in February 2001 when he knocked out his idol Allan Donald in a domestic first-class game with a furious bouncer, and he sobbed when Donald had to leave the field.

With his sheer aggression, Nel dismissed Lara the most number of times. The South African dismissed Lara on eight different instances.

One of the most underrated quick bowlers that hailed from Australia, Andy Bichel was overshadowed by the likes of Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee, and Jason Gillespie, who formed a lethal trio when Bichel was around the Australian team, and hence got less opportunity to shine. But throughout his career, Bichel dismissed Lara on five occasions.

Glenn McGrath ranks among the cricket’s most graceful fast bowlers ever. He was renowned for his exact line and lengths, which throughout his career worried many batters. He fired Sachin four times during the course of his professional career. He dismissed the West Indian legend on five occasions.

Possibly one of the best and most aggressive all-rounders, Andrew Flintoff, who consistently left a lasting impression every time he played for his country’s team. The former England all-rounder was known for his fiery bowling and Flintoff undoubtedly had a flair for getting big wickets throughout his career. 

Throughout his career, Steve Harmison dismissed Lara on four occasions. He was known for his long and rhythmic action as well as the bounce that he got from the wicket. Steve also dismissed Lara on four different occasions throughout his tenure.
