Indian Premier League is proved to be a great platform for the upcoming young superstars to show their skills and talent to the world. IPL has produced many players not just for India, but for other countries as well. However, it’s not same for some countries because of the less number of appearances and opportunities in the cash-rich league.
India’s neighbouring country Bangladesh has produced many great talents in recent years, who have done outstanding things for their country in the international platform but despite this, they were never seen in IPL showcasing their breathtaking talent. But still there are few players who have been a part of IPL. On that note, we will take a look at the hightest Bangladeshi run-scorer in IPL.
Bangladesh’s one of the greatest talents and star allrounder Shakib Al Hasan, who also leads his national team in the international platform, has done very well in IPL. Shakib has played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for most of the time in his career in the cash-rich league.
However, talking about his overall performance, Shakib has played 71 matches in the IPL and scored 793 runs so far at an average of 19.83 with 2 half-centuries. The star allrounder has performed decently with the ball as in 71 matches he has taken 63 wickets at an economy rate of 7.44. Shakib played a key role in KKR’s victory in 2014 where he scored 227 runs in 13 matches and also took 11 wickets as well.
Unfortunately, there are no batter than Shakib who left their impact in IPL because of the less appearances. However, Bangladesh’s star fast bowler Mustafizur Rehman has been playing playing in IPL since 2016 and has performed good as well. Rahman has played 48 matches in IPL and scored 13 runs but batting is not his speciality as he has taken 47 wickets at an economy rate of 7.93.
