United Arab Emirates (UAE) will face Oman in the 7th match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi
India crushed the United Arab Emirates in their opening encounter as they chased down the 58-run target in just 4.3 overs. With their net run rate dented badly following the defeat to India, UAE will need to overcome Oman by a significant margin to stay alive in the tournament.
Pakistan defeated Oman in their tournament opener. Although Oman were successful in restricting Pakistan to a par total, the opposition’s bowling attack was too strong for their batsmen. Oman will, however, have a strong chance to record their first Asia Cup victory against the United Arab Emirates.
Here are the top 3 player battles to watch out for in match 7 of the Asia Cup 2025:
1. Jatinder Singh vs Junaid Siddique

Oman captain Jatinder Singh has scored 1400 runs at a strike rate of 118.34, including eight fifties and a best score of 73* and is the highest run-scorer for Oman in T20Is. Jatinder’s strong technique and ability to rotate strike make him the most dependable batter for his team. However, facing Junaid Siddique will test his patience and skills, and scoring runs against him will be a challenge for the Oman skipper.
Junaid Siddique is UAE’s leading wicket-taker, with 101 wickets at an economy of 7.74 and best figures of 4/12. He is lethal with the new ball in the powerplay overs and bowls at a skiddy pace. He knows the Abu Dhabi ground well and can extract bounce even from flat pitches. The onus will be on him to give UAE a strong start by dismissing the Oman captain cheaply.
2. Muhammad Waseem vs Samay Shrivastava

Muhammad Waseem is UAE’s leading run-scorer in T20Is, with 2941 runs at a strike rate of 154.87 in 83 matches, including three centuries and 23 fifties, with a best score of 112. He loves going after the bowling at the start and showed glimpses of that against India as well. Waseem will look to unsettle Samay Shrivastava early with his aggressive batting and wide array of strokes.
Samay Shrivastava has claimed 15 wickets in 16 T20Is at an economy of 7.62, with best figures of 5/18. He is still young in his T20I career but has already shown the skills and intent to take wickets with impressive bowling spells. He will need to plan carefully to counter Waseem’s aggression, and if he manages to dismiss him early, it will be a huge boost for Oman.
3. Alishan Sharafu vs Shakeel Ahmed

Alishan Sharafu has 1271 runs at a strike rate of 132.94 in 54 T20Is, including nine half-centuries and a best score of 90*. He is one of UAE’s highest run-getters in T20Is, and his ability to handle pressure and stabilise the innings sets him apart. He is a key batter for his side, and the experienced Shakeel Ahmed will look to jolt UAE by dismissing him early.
Shakeel Ahmed has taken 27 wickets in 35 T20Is at an economy of 6.59, with best bowling figures of 3/24. Ahmed is an experienced spinner who uses subtle changes in spin and length to trouble batters. He will aim to vary his line and length to unsettle the UAE top-order batter and pick up his wicket.
