3 RR players who could stay on bench during IPL 2025

The first-ever champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajasthan Royals (RR) went with the lowest purse value in the IPL 2025 auction. They had only 41 crores as they spent most of their amount in retaining their core players. RR spent most of the money in the auction on England star all-rounder Jofra Archer. 

Apart from him, RR were also able to acquire the services of two experienced Sri Lankan spinners, Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana. They also bought two quality Indian pacers, Tushar Deshpande and Akash Madhwal. However, there are some players who got a chance to be picked by RR but are unlikely to play a single match.

Here are the 3 RR players who could stay on bench during IPL 2025:

1. Kunal Rathore

The 22-year-old batter is the first player to get an IPL contract from Kota, Rajasthan. He was also part of RR camp in the IPL 2024 season but couldn’t get a chance to play. However, the franchise has been grooming him for quite some time now. But it is unlikely that he will get a chance to play in the upcoming season as well.

2. Ashok Sharma

Ashok Sharma is a young 22-year-old right-arm medium pacer who has also represented Kolkata Knight Riders in the past. However, the franchise couldn’t use him well. It will also be very tough for him to get a chance to play in the upcoming season as RR’s playing 11 looks quite sorted. 

3. Kumar Kartikeya Singh

The left-arm spinner, Kumar Kartikeya Singh, has represented Mumbai Indians (MI) and has played 4 matches. He has picked up 5 wickets which shows he didn’t have a great start in the league. He has been pretty good in the domestic circuit but there are less chances for him to get a chance to play in this season as RR already have Hasaranga and Theekshana in their side.
