LSG star batter Rishabh Pant just managed to hit a half-century in the last 12 matches. Pant managed to score just 135 runs in the 11 innings of the game with a poor strike rate of 100. This horrendous batting performance was one of the reasons they were knocked out. Pant has been the match winner for DC over the years, but he failed to perform well for LSG this time.
2. Poor batting performances of the middle and lower order
LSG has seen the middle order and lower batting order collapse in most of the matches. LSG opening batters scored big hits in the power plays along with Nicholas Pooran. On the other hand, the middle- and lower-order batters failed to take a stand for their side. Players like Abdul Samad and David Miller also failed to perform the role of the finisher, making them lose many matches.
3. Inconsistent bowling performance
LSG star bowler Digvesh Rathi was one of the best bowlers on his side. He picked up 14 wickets, but apart from that, no bowlers were able to get the wickets, including all-rounders. Notably, this franchise had the worst economy rate in the power plays and the fourth-worst in the last four overs of the IPL 2025. Bishnoi failed to live up to expectations and was ultimately dropped, while Mayank Yadav got injured after playing just three matches. In addition, their key pacer Mohsin Khan was injured.
