3 reasons why Jos Buttler can be a game-changer for GT in IPL 2025

3 reasons why Jos Buttler can be a game-changer for GT in IPL 2025

England’s destructive opening batter Jos Buttler was released by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Gujarat Titans picked him up for the upcoming season for a whopping price of Rs. 15.75 crore. The star batter will be seen opening for the Titans along with the skipper Shubman Gill.

However, the only question regarding him will be his availability for the entire tournament. Gujarat will look to have his services for the entire tournament in order to win their second title after they won their first title in 2022 which was also their debut year in the richest Cricket league in the world.

Here are the 3 reasons why Jos Buttler can be a game-changer for GT in IPL 2025:

Destructive opening batter

Jos Buttler has been opening in the shortest format of the game for a long time and has developed himself as a destructive opening batter. Gujarat Titans have always lacked an opener who can provide them a quick start and an opener who has the ability to shift gears from the very first ball. Opening with Gill, Buttler can play his natural game as Gill is known to anchor the innings.

Experience in T20s

Buttler has a lot of experience in the T20 format. He has been playing in the shortest format of the game since 2011. Whether it’s about his batting, fielding or leadership, Buttler has always proved himself in every situation. With players like Rashid Khan, Shubman Gill and now Jos Buttler, Gujarat Titans are hoping to utilise the experience and win the trophy.

Wicket Keeping and fiedling brilliance

Buttler is a very experienced wicket keeper who has the ability to make magnificent dives and quick glove-work behind the wickets. Apart from that, Buttler is also a great player who can field at any place of the ground.
