3 reasons why Dhruv Jurel should replace KS Bharat in 3rd Test against England

3 reasons why Dhruv Jurel should replace KS Bharat in 3rd Test against England

The Indian team has made a resounding comeback in the second match of the ongoing Test series against England. The victory at Visakhapatnam has revitalized the Indians and the home team would be desperate for a romp through in Rajkot. But there are a few loopholes that need to be addressed and one of the major worries is the wicketkeeper’s role. In this article, we will take a look at 3 reasons why Dhruv Jurel should get the nod in the next match ahead of KS Bharat.

1. Dhruv – The destructor?

One of the major drawbacks of Rishabh Pant’s ouster from action is the lack of intent in the middle order. Pant would change the course of the game with his fearless approach but after his injury, that fearless approach is nowhere to be seen. KS Bharat has not been able to take on the opposition and bring that X-factor to the team. However, Dhruv Jurel can fill the void as he is someone who knows how to change the momentum of the play with some innovative batting.

2. Bharat’s disappointing run

KS Bharat has not made headlines with his batting skills and his wicket keeping has also come under the scanner recently. Since his debut, Bharat has played 7 Tests scoring only 221 runs at a disappointing average of 20.09. His batting has been a big concern as the team India is effectively playing with one less batter. With the series on the line, it is important for the hosts to make impactful changes and integrate Dhruv Jurel into the playing XI.

3. Dhruv Jurel’s recent form

The talented wicketkeeper-batter from Uttar Pradesh has been in fine form for quite some time now. Jurel has delivered impressive batting performances in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season and on top of that he has also been amongst the runs playing for India-A. The 23-year-old deserves a place in the playing XI for he has that belief which is essential for any batter. Team India needs an in-form wicketkeeper batter who can contribute to the middle order and Jurel seems to be the perfect fit.
