3 Reasons Why BAN Lost to PAK in the 3rd T20I Match of Pakistan tour of Bangladesh 2025

3 Reasons Why BAN Lost to PAK in the 3rd T20I Match of Pakistan tour of Bangladesh 2025

On a sultry Dhaka night that hinted at fireworks, it was Bangladesh’s batting that fizzled like a soggy sparkler. Bangladesh had the chance for redemption; the third and last T20I was set for them to make a spirited comeback, and the crowd was expecting the local side to bounce back. But from the moment Tanzid Hasan nicked one behind off the second ball of the chase, the Tigers’ innings fell apart remarkably like a bad mystery novel – predictable, painful, and over almost immediately. What followed was a 74-run hiding that secured the series loss for Pakistan, and left Bangladesh with more questions than they had runs.

Top-order Tantrum – The Great Dhaka Meltdown

When was the coffin finally slammed shut? A historic top-order collapse. Bangladesh barely made it out of the dressing room before the chase unraveled. Half a dozen deliveries after the six overs were up, it was readily apparent they were going half-heartedly and with complete irresponsibility. 41/7 after eight overs, and rather than a collapse, the descent took a plunge.

No opposition pressure was needed; the damage was all self-inflicted. Poor shot selection, faulty footwork, and a complete absence of intent turned what should have been a straightforward chase of 179 into a complete farce. The 35 runs from Mohammad Saifuddin may not have been a consolation prize, but it added a little extra ‘shine’ to a car that underwent a very rough collision. Bangladesh didn’t just lose; they self-combusted.

Sahibzada & Nawaz – Pakistan’s One-Two Punch

But credit where credit is due. Pakistan turned on the heat, and that process started with Sahibzada Farhan. His 63 off 41 balls was the driving force of the innings, as he began a clean, calculated execution that pulled apart the Bangladesh bowlers piece by piece. Sahibzada Farhan didn’t hit; he dictated. Sixes were coming thick and fast, the bowlers were panicking, and Pakistan were suddenly cruising along.

When Farhan fell, the run purse was passed to Hasan Nawaz, who slapped 33 off 17 balls like a hitter swatting at flies. These two batters not only built momentum, but they had made sure that by the halfway mark, Bangladesh would be chasing visions. It wasn’t brute force; it was targeted demolition.

Salman Mirza’s Magic – A Debut Dream

The final twist in the tale? A breathtaking spell by Salman Mirza. The rookie pacer was breathing fire. His 3/20 sliced through Bangladesh like a buzzsaw through butter. Tanzid, Jaker, and Mahedi – all gone before you could blink. His pace, his accuracy, and that little bit of bite off the surface were too much for a fragile line-up to contend with. Add Mohammad Nawaz’s crafty left-arm spin at the end, claiming two scalps in eight balls, and Bangladesh were well and truly toast. This was more than just good bowling: this was a surgical dissection, and Bangladesh had no answers.

Ultimately, what commenced with tentative optimism came to a crashing conclusion in a night of carnage for the Tigers. With a timid batting display, two Pakistani batting bulldozers and a red-hot pacer left Mirpur in stunned silence. Bangladesh did not merely drop a game – they dropped a series and arguably urban legends. From a top-order train wreck to a tactical outgunned, this was a loss that hurt deeper than the final score depicted. A post-mortem is downright unnecessary. The wounds are still too fresh – and painfully obvious.
