3 players who can be player of the series during India vs South Africa T20 Series

After successfully overcoming the Kangaroo challenge the bunch of young Indian players are enroute to South Africa to take on the Proteas in the T20 series. This will be a big challenge for this inexperienced side but it will be a good parameter to evaluate how many of these young players can be a long-term option for the Indian team. In this article, we will talk about 3 players who can emerge as players of the series.

1. Aiden Markram

A South African name to start with. Aiden Markram has been announced as the captain of the T20 and ODI side for South Africa. Many people were expecting this move considering Temba Bavuma’s horrible form in recent times. Aiden Markram has been one of the most dependable batters in the South African batting order for quite some time. He was in good touch in the ODI World Cup in India and the South African captain would be a big threat for the inexperienced Indian bowling unit.

2. Ruturaj Gaikwad

The Indian opener set the Ind-Aus T20 series on fire with his sublime batting. He got some impressive figures in that series along with a top-notch century in Guwahati. Fans would be expecting to see the same heroics from Ruturaj Gaikwad in South African conditions which wouldn’t be easy to tame but his recent form is a big positive for India. For those who are technically adept, South African conditions can turn out to be a happy hunting ground and Gaikwad is surely one of those batters.

3. Suryakumar Yadav

We talked about the South African captain earlier, now let’s come to the Indian skipper. Suryakumar Yadav is a completely different beast when it comes to T20 cricket and he will be the biggest threat for South Africa because he has been in good nick recently. Surya found his mojo once again as soon as he played the first T20I after the ODI World Cup was over. In the last series, he was instrumental for India in the middle order. South African pitches would help him to play his natural attacking game because he loves the ball to come onto his bat and his ‘360’ game can hurt the Proteas.
