UP Warriorz impressed in the inaugural WPL season as they made their way to the playoffs. In playoffs, they had to suffer a heavy defeat against Mumbai Indians but the rest of their campaign was outstanding. With a renewed squad Warriorz will be staking a fresh claim to the WPL Title. Alyssa Healy 

The Leader comes first and if the leader is of Alyssa Healy’s stature, then she automatically becomes the most important player to watch out for. Healy was outstanding in the last season for UP Warriorz leading the side to playoffs. Her batting performance was also notable as she amassed 253 runs in 9 innings which also included a couple of half-centuries. She has been in great form recently and her performances in India in the recently concluded series is particularly an encouraging sign for the franchise. 

Tahlia McGrath

Another Australian who will hold a lot of significance for UP Warriorz is none other than Tahlia McGrath. The 28-year-old Aussie was the highest run-scorer for the franchise from UP with 302 runs to her name in 8 innings at an impressive average of 50.33. Her strike rate of 158.11 proved to be a menace to the opposition. McGrath will be a trump card in the Warriorz batting unit and the team management would hope that she delivers equally impactful performances this season as well. 

Sophie Ecclestone

The English slow left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the inaugural season of WPL with 16 wickets in 9 innings at an average of 14.68. It was a herculean effort from the England international and she was simply the most valuable player for UP Warriorz in WPL 2023. Not just her wicket-taking skills but her ability to be economical came in handy for the franchise. She will be the leader of the attack going into the upcoming season and a lot will bank on her bowling performance.
