3 Players India are missing in WTC 2023 final

The Indian Team is currently taking on the mighty Australian side in the Final of the World Test Championship 2023. The wicket at the Kennington Oval has been good for pacers, but the batters, with some discipline, can take good advantage of the quicker outfields.

The team led by Rohit Sharma has not done in the match so far. Earlier, the bowlers were trashed by Travis Head and Steve Smith, and the batters failed to capitalise in the next innings. The Indian team would surely be missing some of its key players in the Playing XI. In this article, we will look at some of the players India is missing in the WTC final.

#3 Ravichandran Ashwin

The exceptional all-rounder, Ravichandran Ashwin, was picked in the Indian squad but did not make the playing XI. Ashwin is not only the best bowler in Tests but also a highly useful batter in the game’s longest format. Many suggested that the conditions do not call for two spinners in the XI, but since there has been no rain at the venue in the past few days, the pitch has become very dry and might be favourable for spinners later in the game.

#2 Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant, who has been out of cricketing action after he suffered a horrifying accident in December last year, has proved to be a match-winner for India in Tests over the past few years. However, his unavailability meant KS Bharat got a place in the team. Pant has had some excellent outings in England, including a couple of centuries. He would have been a great option to get some quick runs lower down the order amidst India’s batting woes.

#1 Jasprit Bumrah

The Indian team has recently been plagued by injuries, the most notable being that of Jasprit Bumrah. For a long time, the great pacer has been India’s premier bowler in all three formats. In the all-important final against Australia, Bumrah could have been a key bowler. The movement off the pitch would have been ideal for his bowling style. The Indian squad is undoubtedly missing Bumrah.
