IPL 2025 saw its 50th game being played on Thursday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Hosts Rajasthan Royals who were eighth in the game took on Mumbai Indians who were looking to go top of the points table. Hardik Pandya lost his first toss for a while as RR skipper Riyan Parag inserted the opposition into bat. Kumar Kartikeya and Akash Madhwal who were once part of MI, came in for Sandeep Sharma and Wanindu Hasaranga.
Mumbai Indians openers Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma gave the visitors a great start with the bat. The duo added 116 runs for the opening wicket inside 12 overs and gave MI their best start of the season. Rickelton was out after scoring 61, which came off 38 balls, while Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 53 from 36 balls. MI ended their innings with a huge score of 217 for two on the board.
Rajasthan Royals, chasing 218 runs to win, were all out for 117 runs to lose the game by 100 runs. Trent Boult and Karn Sharma took three wickets each for MI, while Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets. Deepak Chahar and Hardik Pandya finished with one wicket apiece while Jofra Archer was the top scorer for the home team with 30 runs.
Milestones achieved during the RR vs MI game
1. SKY’s huge landmark

Suryakumar Yadav achieved a special record during the RR vs MI game when he moved to 25 runs. This was the 11th successive 25-plus score for SKY and went past the previous record, which was held by Robin Uthappa. The 34-year-old has been in great form with the bat this campaign. Suryakumar Yadav is very much in the running for the orange cap award. Yadav had scored 54 off 28 balls in the previous game against Lucknow Super Giants to take the orange cap before Virat Kohli went past him later in the day.
2. 300 wickets for Trent Boult in T20 matches

Former New Zealand seamer Trent Boult got his 300th wicket in the RR vs MI game on Thursday night. The left-arm seamer went past the defence of Yashasvi Jaiswal to dismiss the young batter for 13 runs. Jaiswal had hit Boult for two massive sixes earlier in the over. Once they reached the milestone, Boult was seen giving his former teammate a send-off to celebrate the milestone.
3. Rohit Sharma reaches 6000 runs for the Mumbai Indians

Former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma became the second player after Virat Kohli to go past the 6000 run mark in IPL for a single team. The 38-year-old who began his career with Deccan Chargers moved to MI in 2011 and became a key part of the side not only as a player but also as a captain. It was under Rohit that MI won their five IPL titles and one Champions League title in 2013. The 53 he scored against RR was his third fifty in four innings after having scored just 82 runs in his first six games.
