3 changes SRH should make ahead of their clash against PBKS

The 27th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 12th at the historic Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. The IPL 2024 finalist must be looking to win this battle after suffering four back-to-back losses in the cash-rich league so far.

Pat Cummins and his men have had a great start to the tournament, as they defeated RR in the opening clash before losing four back-to-back matches. The 2016 IPL champions will definitely look to make some changes to get back to the winning run. In the same vein, given below are the three changes that SRH should make ahead of their next game against the in-form PBKS side.

Replace Simarjeet Singh with Rahul Chahar.

Simarjeet hasn’t been good, apart from his spell against RR in SRH’s first match of the season. His role was changed from taking the new ball to being the first change against GT, which didn’t go well either. Rahul Chahar deserves to replace him in the team.

Interchange Nitish Kumar Reddy’s and Kamindu Mendis’s batting positions.

Nitish Kumar Reddy has been struggling to score runs at a good rate in the middle overs. A lot of it has to do with his inability to rotate the strike. Someone who’s better suited for the role could be Kamindu Mendis, who can anchor the innings. Nitish, as a finisher, could do well due to his stroke-making.

Use Zeeshan Ansari in power-play overs.

Zeeshan Ansari

Zeeshan Ansari has been the find of SRH in the ongoing season so far. SRH hasn’t been able to pick a lot of wickets in the Powerplay overs. In the last couple of overs of the Powerplay phase, they need wickets. Ansari, with his traditional leg-spin bowling, could be key. His introduction in the powerplay overs could help SRH pick up wickets early in the match.
