3 changes India can make for 2nd Test against Australia

The Indian Team defied the odds and beat Australia by 295 runs in the first Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. After failing to perform with the bat in the first innings, they bounced back with the ball thanks to Captain Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliance. They now move to Adelaide for the day-night Test match that begins on the 6th of December.

After missing out on the first game, Rohit Sharma now returns to lead the team for the next match. With that, India will have to make some adjustments to the side. Here we look at the possible changes the Indian team could make for the Pink-ball Test

Changes India Could Make For 2nd Test

1. Rohit Sharma for Dhruv Jurel

Rohit Sharma is the obvious choice for the 2nd match. He will return to the team and Dhruv Jurel will have to make way for him. The young wicketkeeper-batter could have done better in the first match, scoring 11 and one run, respectively. Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, is reported to bat at number five to give KL Rahul another chance at the top.

2. Shubman Gill for Devdutt Padikkal

Devdutt Padikkal was added to the squad at the last hour to replace injured Shubman Gill in the first match. Now that Gill is fit to play the 2nd game, he is all set to return to the team. The emerging talent is slowly solidifying his place at number three. He has big shoes to fill after Cheteshwar Pujara did wonders for India at that position.

3. Akash Deep for Harshit Rana

While Harshit Rana had a decent performance in the first match and a great one in the practice game that followed, Akash Deep might be better suited for the conditions in Adelaide. The pronounced seam of the pink ball might help Akash get more seam movement off the pitch. Rana, who is more of a hit-the-deck-hard kind of a bowler might be rested for the match.
